Weekend re-cap...

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend...I sure did! I probably had a little more fun than I should have, because all of my weekend plans that I posted about here were not fulfilled :( I didn't accomplished any of my Sunday plans because I had too much fun on Saturday evening.  Lesson learned....Lol! Don't we always say that though?

Friday night I headed out for dinner and drinks at Fleming's Steakhouse with my girlfriend Moneca. The food was super delicious, and we've already decided that we'll be going back very soon! Then on Saturday the hubs and I headed out to to Los Angeles to celebrate my sister-n-laws 30th birthday at Moo Dae PO, a very lively korean barbeque restaurant. Then the entire party headed downtown for cocktails at a hip lounge that I've sworn I wouldn't tell anyone about : 0.  Such a fun evening. I didn't take a lot of pictures of what I wore, but someone else did, so I'll post more pictures later in the week.

The weekend...

This is going to be a busy but fun weekend for me. I'm already tired just thinking about it. Lol! Good thing is, it will be packed with fun stuff! I'm already trying to figure out how I'll come up with 3 cute outfits for each event. Why do us girls have the hardest time finding something to wear??? Especially when we usually have a closet full of clothes! Anyway, I'll need a fun outfit for Friday girls night out. A sexy, but comfortable dress for a birthday dinner/dancing party on Saturday, and a casual cute outfit for a spa party and a play on Sunday. Below are 3 looks that I love. I think I have a few pieces in my closet that will aid in making these looks happen. :)  I'll try and remember to take pictures to prove it. hehehe

Enjoy your weekend!

Eggs & Organization....

A while back I posted about using unusual items as jewelry catchers.  I've been in love with the way ceramic egg crates have been used recently for holding jewelry.  Well I finally found one that I liked and it was priced right.  I got it at Crate&Barrel for only $6!!! That's good, right? I only purchased one for now, but I have plans to get a few more once my office/studio re-organization project is finished. I'll share more on that later, but I'm super excited to have someone come in and clean house! I'm a fairly tidy person, but I must admit that I can use a de-cluttering session or two throughout my home.  Anyhow, the recent egg crate purchase just symbolizes the organization that I'm looking forward to having...simple, tidy, and clean!

Promises, promises...

I am really horrible at blogging a post like this, and then not following up. But today I remembered that I told you all that I would share my daily work schedule and some tips from the Spark and Hustle business conference I attended.  Well here's the deal...I'll be posting my daily work schedule today, and the S&H biz tips possibly tomorrow. So do I get credit for making good on half of my promise from last week? hehehe

Do any of you have a schedule that you stick too? Whether you are a business owner or not. I'm sure I'll be revising mine as my business evolves, but the one below works great for now!

* Of course as a small biz owner I don't stop working at 3 pm, but the rest of the evening is on and off work due to mommy and wife duties beginning (dinner, homework, clean-up, etc.).

A new love...

I'm constantly making jewelry for BSJ, so my nails don't always look the best. Honestly they take a serious beating because of the supplies and tools I use.  I try and make time to get a manicure every 3 - 4 weeks or so, but I always get a natural nail polish because I don't like worrying about my nails getting messed up, or chipping when I have work to do. I've found that if I just get clear or a light pink color you can't tell when the polish is not looking so hot.  Of course neutral colors become boring especially when there are so many fun nail polish colors available now. Anyway I was tipped off by my very stylish sister-in-law about the new Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips.  I purchased mine at Walgreen's drug store this weekend and I absolutely LOVE them.  I can't wait to try out some of the other designs.  I've been having the strips on for about 5 days now, and they are holding up quite well. I've done all the normal things like bathe, and wash dishes and they still look better than a polish would have by now!  Have you tried any product like this? If so, what did you think?

The weekend...

The weather in Southern California sucks today and it's predicted to be this way for the next few days. I love cool weather, but I've really had enough of the rain. We don't normally get much rain, so you can imagine how upset we are when it rains more than one day. Lol! But since there's not much I can do about it, I'll just try and enjoy it. I guess I'll stay in and create a few more pieces for the BSJ Spring Collection. If you haven't checked out some of the new baubles on my site, please do and let me know what you think. I'd love to hear your feedback.

You guys have any plans this weekend? It's All-star weekend in Los Angeles so lots of people out here are getting into something. Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm really feelin'...

So yesterday I had some stuff on my mind about being a believer and I got excited about sharing my thoughts with you all, so my normal posts schedule was inadvertently swapped. Lol! I should have done my "I'm really feelin'" post yesterday and the inspiration/biz tips today.  Oh well, what can I say...I was inspired to share yesterday. :)

Now on to what "I'm really feelin'" today. I've been starving for great music. I've posted before about the lack of good music being released these days, or what I consider good music. So anyhow, below are a few artists that I loved back in the day, and the albums that have been heavy in rotation as I create for BSJ.

What are you guys listening to these days??? Any good and original new music out?? I would love to hear your recommendations so I can stop playing old stuff. Lol!

Are you a believer?

How much faith do you have in yourself, and in your ability to build a great business? It seems when we are bold enough to embrace our talents, then others will too. When you believe that your business (or the business you want to start) is small, little, kinda, sorta, just, then your business will come off that way.  We need to speak life and positivity into our goals, and business aspirations. For example, I've noticed when I began believing that my business was just as important as a person who worked a corporate job, and I stopped saying "Oh, I make jewelry," and stopped my husband from saying "Oh, she makes bracelets," and we started speaking positivity into my goals, designs, and new career... my business began to flourish. I'm a Jewelry Designer and I create art that people wear! I started believing in those words, myself, my talent, my design capabilities, and my ability to touch others with my work. Doctors don't dumb down their profession or God given talents by saying "Oh I give medicine, and check people for illnesses." I've never heard a Doctor say that, so why do we lessen our talents and businesses. Now I'm not saying be self-absorbed, but have the courage to take BIG pride in what you do, and believe that it is your greatest work at this time. When you do, I know that so many wonderful and positive things will start to appear.  Some that you won't even believe!

I was out last week with a girlfriend and as we were walking to the car to head home she noticed something written on the display window (picture below). I was amazed at first sight of it, but then after a few moments I wasn't...Because I believe in what I'm doing, and as a result of that all sorts of amazing things will begin to show up. ;)

New Bohemian...

Today I thought I'd put together my perfect Spring Bohemian look. Now when I say "bohemian look" don't be scared because I'm not talking about moccasin boots (although they are cute), headbands, and tie-dyed tee's.  I mean a chic, put together bohemian look which is the kind of style that I love! I like to call it the NEW bohemian look ;)

Would you all wear any of these pieces, or are they too "out there" for you?

Blog blah....

My blog schedule has been all thrown off since I attended Spark and Hustle. I truly have been so motivated to move, that I haven't slowed down since I left the conference! I'll be back to normal blogging next week once my new daily schedule is created. I will be scheduling my work days down to the minute to keep myself on a productive schedule that suits my business. Some of you (especially work from home folks) may be interested in seeing what that schedule will look like on paper, so I'll be sharing it here next week along with a few other tips I received at the Spark and Hustle Conference. I did take a small break in between all of my hustling to hang a cute little banner style calendar in my office/studio :) Let me know what you think...too girly???

Spark and Hustle

I'm playing catch up on everything because I was away at a 3 day conference (Spark and Hustle) for women entrepreneurs.  I won't say too much because you really have to experience it for yourself if you are starting a business, have a small business that you want to grow, or have a stagnant business that needs some revitalizing.  It was awesome! The creator Tory Johnson was a gem, and had the most amazing speakers there to dish on everything from creating several streams of income, getting your products on shelves, getting into the media and so much more. If you have the chance to attend this event, I would highly recommend it.  The highlight for me was hearing Jessica Herrin, the creator of Stella and Dot jewelry share her story. It really gave me so much hope for BSJ and where it can go/grow.

I took lots of pictures! Below are some of my faves...Enjoy!
