Happy Halloween!

Happy Monday! It's always tough to get back into the swing of things on Monday, but at least it's Halloween....right? Any of you dressing up in costume? I attended a birthday/Halloween party on Saturday evening in Los Angeles that I dressed up for. I was the "Sexquitha Banana Lady"...that's what the packaging said, not my words. Lol! Well I didn't feel sexy...more like silly, but it was all in good fun! Anyhoo, the hubby and I only live 30 minutes from L.A., so since we were going to be out all night partying, we decided to make a little overnight stay out of it...hehehe. I love impromptu get-a-ways! The hotel was very nice, and we took full advantage of all of the ammenities...lounging in complimentary robes, breakfast in bed while watching movies, long baths, and sleeping in.

Below are a few pictures from my weekend. Enjoy your night and be safe!

MAXI-CHIC Thursday

Yay! it's another thursday and by now you know it's our Bohemian chic style finds. This time we are going all out for the Maxi craze...To keep the list short, It's all about the Maxi skirt and pants. If your looked around you this spring and summer, it was a maxi fest, from pleated to straight, midi to max. With maxi the styling is endless, you can dress it up or down, you don't need to achieve the conservative and boring look as one might associate with long, flowy, skirts or pants.

The list of Maxi-chic looks include runway, celeb looks, and some fabulous street styles.

Top-Bottom (Fendi, Jill Sander, Michael Kors)

Rachel Bilson

 Bottom: Vanessa Hudgens

In the gorgeous pants is Camilla of Glamgerous, she is not afraid to rock her bell bottom pants in the middle of skinny craze because the wide legs are indeed making a come back this fall.

The second (below) look is totally stunning, a perfect example of dressing it up. A combination of green, grey, and white. This is Maddy of Maddinka, check out her blog for details on the outfit.

I hope you're all having a blast-filled week...Happy Halloween if you plan on dressing up for it.
See you next Thursday for another Boho-Chic rendition, but stay tuned for the daily happening in BSJ.

My plate is full.....

Any of you ever have a moment where you are just completely overwhelmed? Well I believe I've reached that point. I'm irritated by every little thing, the knots in my shoulders are ridiculously tight, and I've been surviving off of coffee and dinner...sometimes. I love, love, love what I do for a living but combined with all the other things I have going on as of late (here & here), I must say that I'm in need of a vacay.

Anyhoo, thank God for my intern Stella who has been helping so much around here. Yesterday we went shopping for organization materials, and then she organized all of my fall beads (Yes, I've already debuted my Fall Collection...don't judge...I was gonna get to it but I found Stella first) and she's already gearing me up for my Spring 2012 Collection by researching color trends! If you haven't already checked out who Stella is, you can read her intro post here, and check out her "Boho Style" guest post here every thursday.

Weekend re-cap

Helloooooooo everyone! Hope your weekend was good :) I know it flew by for me...anyone else feel that way? Well although it went by fast over in these parts, I managed to squeeze some play time in which is always great. The hubby and I spent time with two of our closest friends who celebrated their 10 year anniversay! Woo Hoo!!!! I love them both tremendously, so it was a joy to help them celebrate such a beautiful time. Then on Sunday my Sip n' Shop business partner and I went shopping for the upcoming Sip n' Shop, Girls' Night Out event. We purchased lots of fun holiday decor items in pink and silver. It's going to be a very girly and fun event, so if you live in the Los Angeles/Inland Empire area it is a must that you be there! There will be plenty of shopping, champagne, socializing, pampering, and more. You can purchase tickets HERE.

It's the weekend!

Hey all! Hope you all are out and about enjoying your weekend. I'm about to start some mean ol' cleaning of this loft and washing clothes...Ugh, I hate washing! It is my least favorite housekeeping duty. I love keeping our loft clean, but clothes washing I despise. So once the washing is done we're off  to celebrate our dear friends Derek and Tisa's 10 year anniversary this evening. We've known them for over 20 years, so it's going to be a very sentimental time....I'm a cryer. :)

Over the weekend

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend...I'm posting late because I had a million things going on today. Errands, errands, and more errands...I'm finally home in my favorite space (office), eating See's candy and ready to share some fun pictures from my weekend.

Here's a quick recap: Friday evening was awesome because I treated myself to some much needed retail therapy, and then a little bit more retail therapy on Saturday at Tieko Nejon's vintage boutique event (the prices were crazy low so I don't think that counts as therapy...I'm talkin' $3 - $20). Then on Sunday the hubby treated me to brunch Downtown Los Angeles at NOLA's a quaint New Orleans cuisine restaurant. It definitely was a full weekend.

Anyone else indulge in some retail therapy over the weekend?

Weekend

I have a busy weekend of fun stuff, so that's always good. I'm heading to an extra special event tomorrow morning which the talented Shatieko Wilson aka Tieko Nejon' is putting on. If you don't remember who Tieko is click here to read her amazing BBS interview. When she was in the spotlight here on the "Free to be Bohemian Me" blog she received so many wonderful comments about her confidence and her style! She's one talented stylist so I'm really excited about her event tomorrow.

Anyhoo, I'll be back on Monday to share the fabulous pictures with you all. Have a wonderful weekend!

Boho-Chic Celebs We Love...

A Bohemian Chic is definitely a person with a heightened sense of individual style and identity. It is versatile and silently speaks of freeness.
Even as we so often give it that modern twist, it still stays true to the simple and effortlessly stylish. Among the many people that embrace and associate with Boho Chic fashion style are some of the youngest Hollywood celebrities.
The Olsen Twins- (Mary-Kate and Ashley)
As they put their lengthy ages of TV appearances behind them, they are nowhere close to going unnoticed due to their long standing influence on fashion.  As they matured, they took with them their signature Boho Chic or Bohemian-bourgeois style. Their list of Fashion Line adventures includes: Olsenboye,  "The Row" ( Couture Fashion Label), and the newest "Elizabeth & James, named after their siblings. They have also found a way to combine their double vision into the fashion scene. Besides wearing oversized sunglasses, big T-shirt, boots, drapes, and fur over their petite frames,  they have undeniable trendy eyes that extends their empire to include luxurious basics that is "The Row".
Nicole Richie
All grown up now and staying out of trouble, the once Hollywood socialite and reality show star has made an impressive image turnaround by making her mark in the fashion industry. She is doing it all as a mother of two and a Fashion designer. She continues to express her fashion Boho Chic fashion choices through her fashion lines, Winter Kate and "House of Harlow," which showcases the edginess in her style.
I think these young ladies are sassy, smart, fierce, and classy with a sense of style.
