Boho Inspired-Runway

Tis the season to be gorgeous and food feasting without apologies. However it's thursday and the ritual continues with our Boho-chic inspirations. This time the designers of interest are BCBG and Missoni. Their collections exhude that effortless beauty that is so apparent in a Boho-chic style. Hope you love it as well.

Dedicated to my natural sista's!

My hubby dedicated this song to me this morning....He's so sweet!  Now I'm dedicating it to my natural sista's/readers out there. I decided to lock my hair 3 years ago and I haven't looked back. I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Good luck to anyone who has recently started their natural hair journey...embrace it and enjoy the process. For those of you who may be reading and don't know what the heck I'm talking about...Read HERE for a great explanation (because I can really go on and on about this topic...Lol!).

Hope you enjoy the song as much as I do + I love Dead Prez!

Love for Textiles...

I really love textiles so when I ran across the SY-Love for Textiles book at Ikea a few weeks ago I had to have it. Can you believe it was on sale for $7.99??!! The earthy/boho decor really inspires me and now my hubby and I are planning to finally start painting and putting our art on the walls.

I don't want to spoil it in case you decide to purchase it, so below are just a few pictures from the book. Enjoy!

Fall in Colors | Not a dull moment

It's Fall and we didn't have to reiterate that but, the fact that...Autumn|Fall| Winter stirs the thought of gray|brown|black and dark colors paired in a rather nonchalant and unlively manner, which often portray winter as a dreadful colorless cold times.
Need I say it really doesn't have to remain that way, you can totally feel your inner sunshine all year round...This year in fashion, the memo has been to stay radiating in colors and I found just the right pieces from Rag and Bone collections.
I hope you are equally inspired by these colors and the statements the collection makes.

Jay Z...controversial topics

My cousin Terrence (passenger) and his friend Ben created this video while driving (hmm...I'm still processing that one). Anyhoo, it really is a topic that I think several of us have thought about, I know I have. Rap music has always been a controversial topic especially as it relates to the lyrics and the folks behind the lyrics, but sometimes maybe we are too quick to judge the artists. When I think back on some of the artist I love (Jay Z being one of them), I realize that I've almost always heard some reference to God in their lyrics, so I know they are aware but what else do I really know about their spiritual laws, values, beliefs.....not much. Check out the video and let me or Terrence and Ben know what you think by commenting below or on their youtube video. I love this and I'm so anxious to see their next video...

Facebook, I bid you farewell...

A few days ago I was thinking about the things I wanted to add and eliminate in the new year. I've always stated that I don't make resolutions, but I do love the thought of reducing and/or fine tuning certain things at the beginning of a new year. A "fresh start" as we seem to love to call it. Anyhoo, I got a jump start on one of the things I wanted to eliminate and that was facebook. As of last week I had 700 friends on facebook (umm...yeah) and now I'm down to 33! Just family and a few very close friends. The only reason I kept my personal page at all was to keep my BSJ "Like" page up. Apparently you can't have a business page on facebook and not have a personal page attached. So while I love interacting with my clients on FB through my business page, I was slowly becoming detached from my personal page. Quite frankly I was spending too much time reading what was going on in other folks lives and is it really any of my damn business to know who got a divorce, whose relatives passed on, blah blah blah. There are several other reasons I decided to disconnect as well, but I won't bore you. Soooooooo if you were a friend on my personal page please don't be upset...but you can still stay updated on new baubles, and other good stuff on the LIKE page.

Last night as I was reading the WonderfullyMade blog I found THIS post...I guess several people feel the way I do. What about you...are you getting tired of facebook, do you spend too much time on it, or are you handling it all just fine?

Hubby holiday gifts...

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. My weekend consisted mostly of resting, watching movies, decorating a bit, some Christmas shopping for my little guy, and working. It was nice not to have a million places to be this weekend. I got to spend time with my guys which is what I love doing most anyway.

Anyhoo, I'm still trying to decide what to get my hubby for Christmas....I know, I know I'm definitely running out of time...don't judge! Lol! We normally keep it very simple and only buy each other one gift since we spend a good amount of cash on our anniversary, which is just a month before Christmas. Below are a few things I like for him, that I also know he'll like. He's a stylish guy, so he loves well-made clothes and as of late he's been into gadgets as well.  We'll see what I come up with...wish me luck!

Boho Inspiration- Vogue Editorial

While pondering on what BSJ fans would love to see, I came across these fabulous photo shoot for Vogue Italia. These has so many Boho-chic inspiration for all season. The styling seems well thought out as the ode to the 70s remains the focus with a twist of modern attitude. The ethnic, geometrical, floral, and fringe details sets the stage for a perfect editorial.

The best part of these looks is that anyone can find individual pieces that is their
own style. Whether you want to go all out or stay slightly boho and chic...

I love that they look outrageous at first but at the same time very wearable.
what pieces of the overall look or the photoshoot do you like?

At BSJ Headquarters...

Holiday time is crazy here at the Bohemian Spirit Jewelry headquarters and I don't mind it one bit. I love packaging orders knowing that someone will be receiving a bauble that they might not have been expecting, or one that they've really wanted. It's that element of surprise that makes gift giving so super special and to see the look on one's face when they open the package. Love it!

Anyhoo, while creating and shipping out holiday goodies, I managed to create a few new pieces for my shop. Check them out and let me know what you think. Hopefully you'll think they're cute enough to purchase a couple for yourself or family for the holidays ;)

Over the weekend....

Hello all! I feel so bad because last week I promised to post pictures on Monday from the event I attended on Sunday.  I just couldn't find the time to get around to it yesterday because I'm still catching up on Cyber Monday orders, so please forgive me.

Anyhoo, I had a beautiful time surrounded by 30 fabulous women. If you read my post last week here, you know that the setting was on a yacht in the Long Beach harbor....BEAUTIFUL! There was plenty of wine, dancing, laughing, bonding and just overall good times. I love to see women gathered together to support one another and the evening was definitely all about love and sisterhood!

I set up a small table of baubles just to give the ladies a feel for what else I make besides the 30 custom bracelets that each one of them received. I was so happy with the response and my Sentiment Rings seemed to be the most popular item of the evening. Such a fun time!

What were you guys up to this weekend? Did anyone get any Christmas shopping done??? I haven't even started :(
