Oh Anthro...

I love everything about Anthropologie's store. The global feel of the decor, uniqueness of the merchandise, and the earthiness of the website and blog seem like they were tailor made for a boho-chic gal like me. I've always been that girl that wore something "different" and didn't quite fit in where I grew up. Anthro has managed to create a space that make us "strange" girls feel welcomed. I embrace my differences, my quirkiness, & my love for things that sometimes don't make sense to others. That's the beauty of being me.

I can see myself on a similar trip wearing all of the beautiful outfits in this video. Enjoy!

Eek...

Whoa!!!! I just kinda skipped out on y'all for like 10 plus days. Life definitely got in the way of my blogging schedule. I must admit that I did think about blogging, but never got around to it. I'm so behind on my favorite blogs as well. I can't wait to make a fresh pot of coffee in the a.m. and dedicate some time to catching up on all that has been going on with you guys. So definitely be looking out for my comments...I'll be stopping over your way soon!

Anyhoo, I've been redecorating and organizing our home for the past 10 days and all I can say is...Whew..what a huge undertaking this has been! I'm almost done with the downstairs area (kitchen, dining area, living room, and powder room) and I'm hoping to be moving upstairs by next week. This has been more than a notion. I've been spending most days from sun up until sundown organizing cabinets and running to Home Goods, Ikea, Target, and TJ Maxx. It has been exhausting, but I'm finally starting to see the results I want. Once I get a few more things done, I'll post some pictures. I did take a break on Saturday to attend a Moja Moja, a pre-Grammy brunch and benefit concert. It was pretty amazing and just the break I needed. The music was outstanding and I am now a fan of many of the indie musicians I heard that day. I'll be posting on a few of them later in the week.

Below are some pics of what I've been up to lately....Besides being an insane decorating lady. Lol!

Night cap with my boo here.

Sipped my first cup of joe on my porch after fasting for 20+ days.

Another lovely day in Manhattan Beach for these wonderful events.

A healthy salad I created for my guys...they loved it!

Dressed & headed to the Moja Moja Pre-Grammy Brunch.

Those heels were so comfy...no complaints. Got them here.
I love a cute jumper. Scored this one at Marshall's.

Lunch & meeting with my biz partner to discuss taking our events to the next level!

Scored these Christian Siriano for Payless ankle strap pumps for $19.99

Home Makeover

I hope you guys don't mind me veering off of my normal blogging path today. I normally share a blogger style post, but I've been so obsessed with my house redecorating project that I want to share some images of home decor that I love! I've been pinning lots of stuff on my Pinterest board here if you'd like to follow along. The first project is my living room. This is the space where we spend the most time as a family, so it seemed natural that I redo that space first. I've already picked up some items, but I still have a few more things to purchase. This project is being done on a serious budget. I've been scouring the clearance and sale sections at Ikea, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and Goodwill to ensure that I'm getting the most for my money. I work hard for every dime, so I want to make sure it stretches as much as possible. I'm sure most of you can relate to that.

Anyhoo, below is my living room inspiration pictures. I'm going for a cultural/boho/boho chic look. I love pops of color, and a lived in feel and not too matchy matchy...Lol! What's your decorating style like?

My Weekend + OOTD #3

Hey Y'all! Hope you had a good weekend! Mine was quite full as I said it would be in my post here. There was plenty of driving involved which I don't particularly care for...I definitely prefer riding, but that wasn't the case this weekend. So off I trekked to Compton on Friday evening for bible study, then back home by 10 p.m. Saturday I headed back out to the Los Angeles area to Manhattan Beach for the A Toast 2 Artistry event that my girlfriend Monica and I put on...The weather was gorgeous!  Then I stopped for a fun visit with one of my best girlfriends who just delivered her 4th beautiful baby boy named Drew. On Saturday, I baby sat for several hours which was challenging and fun all at the same time. I had errands to run, so toting an infant around the mall proved to be quite distracting...I even walked out of one store with several items on top of the stroller. I didn't realize I had them until I arrived in another store...Of course I took the items back. My son thought it was hilarious. It was a great lesson for him that you don't steal...even if it's an accident. Lol!

Anyhoo, I was pooped by Sunday evening and happy to unwind and relax with a glass of red wine and watch House Hunters.

What did you guys do over the weekend?

I'm full...

I love the statement "I'm full" rather than "I'm busy." When I saw Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church  NYC being interviewed on 100 Life Goals and was asked about his time and how he manages such a busy life, he said something like, "I'm never busy, but I am most often full." I think that is such a great way of thinking of things when you have your days scheduled with lots of to-do's. Am I too busy to take a phone call, or stop and see a good friend....Of course not! I mean really, who's that darn busy? But I am full! I actually have several things to do this weekend, but it is because I scheduled them all. They have a time allotment and then they will be over.

So here's to a full weekend with not much relaxation, but I'm thankful and grateful that I have things to do! And whatever your schedule looks like this weekend...full or not so full...I hope it's an awesome one!

Boho Fashion

I recently stumbled upon a new website that I LOVE! ThreadSence has the sort of boho-chic clothing I'm always looking for that won't break the bank. Another great source for boho apparel is Free People, but their price tags don't always fit within my budget. If you aren't into boho fashion as much, the Co-founder of ThreadSence, Mai Olivo just happens to own another successful online boutique named Ruche which sells new vintage-inspired clothing....they have some really cute things too!

Anyhoo, below are some of my favorite looks available at ThreadSence.

Weekend OOTD #2

Happy Monday & Happy New Year! I'm back with a new energy that sparks most of us at the beginning of a new year. I'm so thankful for the much needed break I had. I never stopped working completely, because that is almost impossible when you are self-employed, but I did get to do some relaxing on my couch with plenty of magazines, while wrapped in a cozy new blanket my mother-in-law gifted me. Also, I caught this amazingly inspiring movie with my hubby and son, visited with friends and family, shopped here and here, and enjoyed some time with my closest girlfriend over a margarita here.

As promised, I'm continuing on with my weekend outfit posts. Both of these looks are fairly simple. The first is what I wore to church on Sunday, and the second is the type of outfit I normally wear when I'm out and about shopping or running errands. Nothing too fancy about either, but the comfort is what's most important to me. :)
