The weekend

The weekend flew by. I worked at the farmers market on Friday, and all day Saturday in Los Angeles with back to back A Toast 2 Artistry events.  I was so exhausted by Sunday that I couldn't even get my butt in gear to make it to church, but I did watch online (Lord forgive me)...lol! It felt so good to just relax and do simple stuff like paint, eat tons of candy, and lounge on the couch and enjoy my Sartorialist book.

What did you all do over the weekend?

*P.S. I found my salt water sandals in our storage & couldn't wait to wear them. Thanks California weather!

Curated Comfort

I'm a sucker for pretty things, so when my girlfriend Ebony launched her new loungewear company Soft Goods I was all over it. The complete line of loungewear is airy, pastel-y, and totally curated for comfort. I couldn't wait to get my hands on something! I ended up purchasing the Wifey razor tank and received it yesterday. I adore it, and can't wait to pair it with some harem style pants and ballet flats.

Anyhoo, I'll definitely be purchasing some other items soon. I've got my eye on the striped lounge pants and the newly released Dolman Midi Dress! You can follow Soft Goods on instagram here (swoon worthy photos) & me here in case your wondering how I'm going to style my new Wifey tank .

Have a great weekend!

Tribal Find

Anyone else besides me obsessed with tribal patterns and prints? It seems like everything I'm drawn to these days has a global feel. Maybe it's Gods way of telling me to get prepared for a cultural excursion...who knows.

Anyhoo, I have been searching high and low for a tribal style handbag that wouldn't break the bank. Well, I finally found one. It's definitely what I wanted as far as pattern and quality goes, but without the hefty price tag.  I stumbled upon it at Ananda Boutique in Venice on Abbot Kinney Street, which has some of the best indie boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops in the Southern Cali beach areas. Since the hubby and I were walking around (me shopping) in the Venice area, we decided to grab dinner as well at a lovely little place call Salt Air. It was such a beautiful day!

I loved the natural menus.

Private Dining Room. Hmmm...I sense a girls' gathering coming on. :)

Bar Area with fresh citrus fruit in bowls. LOVE!

Rose' :)

The best corn fritters with a salted honey butter!

Organic seasonal salad.

Fried oysters (hubby wanted these)

Lobster sandwich...Yum!

My lovely Tribal Tote...Yip!

Sitting pretty!

Decor Sneak Peek...

Hey lovely ones! I finally got around to taking a few pictures of some of the updates I've done around my house. Nothing fancy, but just something to make it more cozy and livable. We've moved 2 times over the past 2 1/2 years, so this last move (although only across the street) kinda took everything out of me, and I just had not been in the mood to decorate again. But when the new year came, I felt differently and so appreciative for so many things. I wanted to create a comfy home for my boys, especially my husband who works so hard to make a comfortable life for our family.

Anyhoo, here's a few sneak peeks of what's going on over here. It's all a work in progress, and may change several times before I get things exactly how I want them.

Staples & Stripes

I've been on a mission to simplify my home and wardrobe over the past month or so. The older I get, the more I realize that quality over quantity is the way to go. I started thinking a lot about my style a few weeks ago when I was interviewed for an upcoming e-zine geared towards living a balanced and inspired life. One of the questions asked me to describe my style, and what staples each woman should have in their wardrobe. I'm no expert on fashion, but the question really got me to realize that I need a few key staples that I can go to to complete my look.

Anyhoo, below is a look that I absolutely love! I'm wearing a few of the key pieces that are important to my boho-chic wardrobe: jean shirt, moccasins, and a jersey style dress. It's pulled together yet comfortable, and perfect for errands, lunch with the girls, or a plane ride. I blogged about a similar dress in this post last week, but my dress was far cheaper than the $100+ price tag on theirs. I found mine at H&M, so you know it was affordable!

Girly Things...

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day & hopefully you are off today for President's Day. I've been meaning to post, but really I just didn't have anything to post about. I know I've been promising to show some of the home decor improvements that I've done around the house and I will this week for sure.

Well, today I just wanted to show off some girly things that I'm absolutely adoring. I had been coveting some items as I said here, so I treated myself to a little shopping spree. I didn't end up getting the Steve Madden sneakers because they just weren't comfortable. But I did fall in love with these gold fleck converse....I mean I'm so IN LOVE with them. They are by far my favorite purchase this year. I also purchase a few more Alex & Ani bracelets (I already had one that I received for Christmas), and a cute striped watch. I also received my new business cards for A Toast 2 Artistry. I really like how they came out. My hubby bought me the Taurus notebook from my favorite store Anthropologie. He's such a dumplin'!

By the way, my blog got a little facelift...what ya' think?

Stuff I love....

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a beautiful weekend. Mine was filled to the brim with family stuff that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll share more on that later in the week.

Anyhoo, I've recently spotted some stuff that I am loving, wanting, and seriously thinking of purchasing really soon. I'm a thrifty gal, so I will more than likely only purchase a few items at a time. You know...like reward myself every month with a special gift. Lol! What are you currently coveting and thinking of purchasing for yourself these days?
