Back in November of 2011 I met Mylah at one of the quarterly Sip n' Shop, Girls' Night Out events I put on. Immediately I noticed how friendly she was and I thought what a great person to be in the spa business. I don't know if you guys can relate, but I always like to feel welcomed and see a smiling face when I'm having a spa treatment. Unfortunately, I was unable to sample the Lemongrass Spa Products the evening I met Mylah, but I have recently had the opportunity to try them out and let me tell you....they are fabulous! The products are 97 - 100% chemical free, infused with essential oils, and just feel good on your skin. So if you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, professional, and willing to give you great customer service, then I suggest you call Mylah. She'll do you right and she's definitely making moves as a Lemongrass Spa Rep.
Please show some support by reading her BBS interview and commenting. :) Thank you!
1. I won't ask your age, but what was your favorite t.v. show to watch growing up?
That’s an easy question. Hands down…The Cosby Show!
I’ve worked for corporations and non-profits for several years (and still do) and it has been an excellent training ground for becoming a “servant-leader.” With that said, I have a long journey ahead of me, but am taking advantage of the steady income I have while working towards building my dream. My typical day begins at 5:00 a.m. My son and I are usually out the door and headed to the babysitter by 6:15 a.m. I work from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On my lunch break, I plug-in to my social networking sites to update my business page Altogether Beautiful (www.fb.com/skincarewithmylah) , my twitter accounts, my emails, etc. After work, I pick up my son, cook dinner, spend time with my hubby, and put my son to sleep. Then, I hop back online to research blog-worthy material, follow-up with customers, promote my events, or I set up shop at the kitchen table to package products for reviews, swag bags, etc.
Truthfully, it’s hard to stay focused with a little one at home. And working a full-time job while trying to launch your dreams doesn’t always help. Admittedly, there are days when the focus just isn’t there. But I keep pressing! I keep thinking about why I’m doing this.
5. How do you find the strength to persevere when the challenges seem to outweigh the rewards?
As I am writing out the answers to these questions, I don’t have a lot of strength. As a matter of fact, today’s one of those distracted days. A day when I feel like “is anyone ever going to respond to that event invitation?” or “maybe I’m spending more than I’m making in this business” or even “Please, dear Lord, let the cosmetology school down the street open the evening class again!” But at these moments, I can hear the Lord saying, “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.” I CAN’T GIVE UP! I just know that the challenges come to test my character and make me stronger. That’s what they’re about. I wouldn’t know happiness without a little sorrow.
6. What inspires you?
My son, Micah, inspires me. People loving the skin their in inspires me. Healthy bodies and healthy minds inspire me.
7. What's your go to wine when it's time to unwind? :)
Hmmm, I’m not much of a wine drinker, but I would have to say anything white or blush, and as sweet as they come. J
8. Most people who want to start a business don't know where to begin...any suggestions?
Let me say that I could greatly benefit from other’s answers to this question. I’m just learning!
9. When it comes to the following words, what advice would you give?
Work: Be dedicated! Work as unto the Lord…
Self: Be good to yourself. Push yourself, but also know your limitations. Always take time to treat yourself.
Life: Speak life and not death. The only things serious about life are salvation and spreading the Gospel. Other than that, you can’t take your “stuff” to heaven so be kind to people, don’t bully, listen with intent, and love your neighbor.
Love: Love hard and love everyone…even if you don’t always “like” them.
Friends: Know who your true friends are and cherish them. Love them like family.
10. I define a Bohemian Spirit as someone who is free, unique, and unafraid to make her own stamp on the world. Why are you a Bohemian Spirit?
I’m not afraid to be different. You’ll never find me trying to keep up with the latest trends. I don’t need my name in lights. I am a creative and unique spirit and find pleasure in the fact that God knitted me together the way He did. I am definitely free to be me. God made absolutely NO mistakes!
