Eek...

Whoa!!!! I just kinda skipped out on y'all for like 10 plus days. Life definitely got in the way of my blogging schedule. I must admit that I did think about blogging, but never got around to it. I'm so behind on my favorite blogs as well. I can't wait to make a fresh pot of coffee in the a.m. and dedicate some time to catching up on all that has been going on with you guys. So definitely be looking out for my comments...I'll be stopping over your way soon!

Anyhoo, I've been redecorating and organizing our home for the past 10 days and all I can say is...Whew..what a huge undertaking this has been! I'm almost done with the downstairs area (kitchen, dining area, living room, and powder room) and I'm hoping to be moving upstairs by next week. This has been more than a notion. I've been spending most days from sun up until sundown organizing cabinets and running to Home Goods, Ikea, Target, and TJ Maxx. It has been exhausting, but I'm finally starting to see the results I want. Once I get a few more things done, I'll post some pictures. I did take a break on Saturday to attend a Moja Moja, a pre-Grammy brunch and benefit concert. It was pretty amazing and just the break I needed. The music was outstanding and I am now a fan of many of the indie musicians I heard that day. I'll be posting on a few of them later in the week.

Watts Drum Festival...

Last Saturday the hubs decided mid-day that he wanted to head out to Watts and check out the annual drum festival at the Watts Towers. We were chilling so hard that I didn't expect us to be able to peel ourselves from our chill modes.  The hubs had been napping all day because he works full time and is a full time student, so the weekends are his only chance to rest. I was on the computer catching up on my blogs, and our son was upstairs doing homework.  So when my hubs popped up and said, "Let's roll" it totally caught me off guard. But we sprang into action, got dressed, and headed out the door in less than 30 minutes....Hence our laid back attire. I was excited to wear my new built in wedge sneakers...My son laughed and said, "Mom, I never see you in those type of shoes." They were comfy and perfect for the laid-back outing.

Anyhoo, we ended up having a beautiful day out. We enjoyed the african drumming, vendors, food, and snapped plenty of pictures. I'm actually glad we got off our butts and got out. Below are a few snap shots from our time at the Watts Festival.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday! Anybody have any grand plans for the weekend? Well, I'll be working at Glitter on Saturday and working on adding more summer baubles to the BSJ site. Then on Sunday, I'll be spending the day with my family for Father's Day! I have a special day planned for my hubby because he's such an awesome Dad! My father lives in Cleveland so I'll be doing something nice for him next month when I travel there for a visit.

Hey everybody! Hope you all had a good week. We've been having weird weather here in Southern California. Lots of cool and windy days, and rainy nights. I love the rain :) 

Anyhoo, this weather makes me want to do cozy things...Sleep, cuddle, watch movies, drink coffee, and read magazines. Hope you all are having better weather in your part of town.

My week...

What an UH-mazing week! My partner and I opened Glitter this week to the awesome people of Claremont. We are already getting a feel of what items are top sellers and who our customer base will be. It's funny because I've always wanted to bag items, ring up purchases, and socialize with girls who love fashion. I always thought it would be a cool job and now here I am doing it. "E" and I have been having a blast chatting with girls and talking fashion!

Anyhoo, I hope you all have a great and restful weekend. I'll be working, but I'll be looking forward to an upcoming trip that's in the works ;) Catch you all on Monday!

The week was so sweet...

Hey there! I hope you all have had a great week. Mine has been filled to the brim with work, but the progress of  Glitter is coming along wonderfully and the BSJ Spring Collection is done! Woo Hoo! I'll be adding the new baubles to the site soon. Anyone have grand plans for the weekend??? I have a full weekend of work mixed with some play...A nice mix.

The weekend

It rained in Southern Cali today {contrary to what Tony, Toni, Tone' says}and I'm all smiles because of it! I had a chance to wear my rainboots, use my cute umbrella, wear one of my new scarves, and peruse my neighborhood with coffee in hand as if we were really having a winter. Hehehe...
