Spring Getaway

Happy Spring Y'all! I hope your first 3 months of 2017 were great! Hopefully, you've been kicking butt on your goals and making things happen. And if you just haven't gotten around to getting much done this year, then what a great time to regroup, refocus, and start fresh for Spring!

Sometimes getting in motion can be tough and I'm definitely guilty of lagging. But one of the things I love doing most during this time of the year is planning a getaway to recharge my mind, body, and soul. I think it's so important to change our scenery every now and then for inspiration, peace of mind, and personal growth. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, but a day or so somewhere other than home and without distractions, can sometimes give us the boost we need to relax and focus on our next move.

Recently, I planned a getaway for my family at Casa Laguna Hotel in Laguna Beach. I came across the hotel on Instagram and I couldn't figure out how I hadn't seen it before since my family and I frequent the Laguna area. So, being the inquisitive person that I am (some call it nosy..lol), I went online to find out where exactly they were located, and instantly fell in love with the photographs of the property! I knew right away that it would be the place for our Spring getaway!

Fast forward, we arrived home today from our stay at Casa Laguna Hotel and Spa, and all I can say is I didn't want to leave. If you live in the Los Angeles, Orange County or surrounding area, then this hotel is a must visit. The grounds are quaint and beautiful. The rooms were cozy with balcony seating to view the Pacific Ocean. The staff was very helpful and gracious with the champagne pours :). Oh, and I had the most relaxing swedish massage in their outdoor gazebo above the pool area. Katie, my masseuse was great and she even offered to take pictures of me when I told her that I was a blogger.

I highly recommend you stay at Casa Laguna Hotel if you love boutique-style hotels with a cozy environment.

San Diego Staycation

Hi Lovelies! Hope you had a restful weekend and was able to get back into the new week with ease. I actually worked late on Friday and midday into Saturday and was looking forward to having Sunday off to spend with family.

My Mother, who lives in Southern California and just 20 minutes east of me is moving to Louisiana in less than a month...I am not happy about this, and can't imagine not having her close to me. So, because there is absolutely nothing I can do to change her mind (believe me I've tried), I decided to plan a mini-getaway to San Diego with her, my sister and my son Myles. Our Mom enjoys the outdoors, so I scheduled a trip to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park which I knew she would love.

We also stayed overnight in the Gaslamp district which is known for cool eateries and nightlife. I booked our room at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites which is an old, charming hotel with beautiful architecture, a cool basement bar lounge, and an amazing rooftop view of the city.

We ended out trip by walking through the North Park area which has many indie shops and restaurants. We visited one particular shop called Pigment that I instantly fell in love with. Then we headed to Lucha Libre for some delicious mexican food and super cool ambiance. Both places are definitely a must visit if you find yourself in the San Diego area.
