My Forty Plus Style

Hey Lovelies! Look at me.... 2 back-to-back posts. Woo hoo! This one is light-hearted, fun and about fashion, which we girls love!

I made forty-one years of age this past May and it was quite an unbelievable day for me. I was immensely thankful to God for giving me another year of life, but also amazed that the time had flown by so quickly. I started thinking about ways I've grown and changed over the years and funny enough I noticed that my style has changed a bit. Not in a bad way, but in a more mature way. I still keep my look fun, but with more of a 40-ish bohemian vibe.

Anyhoo, I've noticed that since I'm more aware of what looks good on me and what I feel comfortable in, it's now easier for me to shop. But now things seem pricier because I'm so picky about quality and a great fit. Ugh! If I can stay off this website and out of here, here, here, and here, I may be able to save for my dream trip to Italy {insert crying eyes emoji}.

Tribal Find

Anyone else besides me obsessed with tribal patterns and prints? It seems like everything I'm drawn to these days has a global feel. Maybe it's Gods way of telling me to get prepared for a cultural excursion...who knows.

Anyhoo, I have been searching high and low for a tribal style handbag that wouldn't break the bank. Well, I finally found one. It's definitely what I wanted as far as pattern and quality goes, but without the hefty price tag.  I stumbled upon it at Ananda Boutique in Venice on Abbot Kinney Street, which has some of the best indie boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops in the Southern Cali beach areas. Since the hubby and I were walking around (me shopping) in the Venice area, we decided to grab dinner as well at a lovely little place call Salt Air. It was such a beautiful day!

I loved the natural menus.

Private Dining Room. Hmmm...I sense a girls' gathering coming on. :)

Bar Area with fresh citrus fruit in bowls. LOVE!

Rose' :)

The best corn fritters with a salted honey butter!

Organic seasonal salad.

Fried oysters (hubby wanted these)

Lobster sandwich...Yum!

My lovely Tribal Tote...Yip!

Sitting pretty!

Boho Fashion

I recently stumbled upon a new website that I LOVE! ThreadSence has the sort of boho-chic clothing I'm always looking for that won't break the bank. Another great source for boho apparel is Free People, but their price tags don't always fit within my budget. If you aren't into boho fashion as much, the Co-founder of ThreadSence, Mai Olivo just happens to own another successful online boutique named Ruche which sells new vintage-inspired clothing....they have some really cute things too!

Anyhoo, below are some of my favorite looks available at ThreadSence.

Blogger Style...

Woot Woot...today is the 2nd installment of Blogger Style! Pray for me y'all because I'm trying to be consistent in all that I do. Oh the struggle though...Lol! But I managed to remember that today was the day to feature some fabulous bloggers that you may or may not know about, so here it goes. Bambis Armoire and Sincerely Jules and two style bloggers that put together looks that are definitely blog worthy in my book. Although, I lean more towards the boho-chic style of Julie from Sincerely Jules, I still very much appreciate the sophistication and overall pulled together-ness of Tosha from Bambi's Armoire

Let me know what you think of them...

Scarf Versatility

One of my favorite things about fall is being able to play around with all the many scarves I own. I swear, I must own at least 30! I love the way you can throw one on with your jeans, tee, and tennis shoe look and it instantly adds some "chic" to your outfit. Maybe one day I'll take a picture of all the scarves I own and post them here...I believe my collection is a boho scarf lovers dream...Lol!

Anyhoo, I ran across a wonderful post on different ways to use your scarf. I'm all for getting more bang for my buck. Check out the many things you can do with that little ol' thing that you thought was just a scarf. Enjoy!
