Disappointed...

I'm going to try and keep this as short and sweet as possible because I really can go on and on about supporting one another, and letting one another know when you appreciate them and what they do. This topic can seriously lead me into another blog post about some women and their unwillingness to reach out and let other women know that they have touched them in some way, inspired them, contributed to a change in their life, uplifted them, etc. I'll save that for another day and time.

However, I will say this, if you read this blog, or subscribe as a bohemian spirit over there ------> (yep I'm calling you out), then I would really appreciate it if you would please comment when I post a Bohemian Business Spotlight interview! A word of encouragement, something you liked about the interview, something that inspired or touched you, or even something you liked that they've done, said, or created.....you get the picture. I do the BBS to help entertain you, but mostly to inspire YOU and to encourage the person in the spotlight to continue doing their thang, because the "free to be bohemian me" subscribers and readers can relate, and are very appreciative of women who are willing to bravely share their stories.

The purpose of this blog is to promote being "free" in ones thinking and being, but when I notice that I've had hundreds of hits on a BBS interview and only the spotlighted persons friends and family are commenting...well that really angers me...seriously! Come on all you "free" readers...be "free" with your support, love, and encouragement of others and say something!

I'm really not a mean person at all, but I've been wondering if I should discontinue the BBS because I'm just down right disappointed by the lack of response and I know you are reading them. If you don't feel the need to comment on anything else on this blog that's fine, but if you would like me to continue highlighting women for the  Bohemian Business Spotlights then please show your support.

  1. Myisha - It is so disappointing when you know that people are reading posts, but not commenting. Especially when you are trying to promote businesses. Please don't stop posting these. I think they are great!

  2. Thanks for your response Erika and thanks for following! It does get rather frustrating and disheartening when I'm trying to promote/celebrate women in business and people don't respond even when it may be encouraging to them, so thank YOU for speaking out.

  3. Don't stop posting because of the lack of response. You might stop doing everything. In my years of business and supporting others, there is a verrrry small percentage that interacts, response, etc.(yes, even women that have been in my networks for years). However, I do find that when I continue to do what I enjoy, women contact me to say, "thank you". People are alwasy watching. I am glad that I can inspire, but even if I do not hear from anyone, I still motivate myself. I know your feeling. Othe women have cried out about this samething (I've even received phone calls). This constant, repetitive lack of support is much much deeper (evenin support groups).

  5. Myisha~ Keep up the great work, keep reaching out, and posting on your blog. Despite the fact that real true supporters are sometimes hard to come by.

  6. Myisha - you should definitely keep the BBS spotlight going because you have a lot of faithful followers reading, including myself. I've felt the same way about my own blog. I was constantly posting and hardly getting any comments/feedback, however when I spoke to people they would tell me that they liked my blog or mention something that I had posted to let me know they were indeed following along. It can be very discouraging sometimes but I think you're doing a wonderful job and would hate to see it end.

  7. Hey I! I will continue to blog because I love it! I've experience the non-commenting since I started blogging way back when...don't mind that a bit. I think I'm most disturbed by the lack of response to the Bohemian Business Spotlights because I've highlit women who have lost a parent and started a non-profit, been laid-off without any other source of income and dared to start a business and none of these types of AMAZING stories have jarred a response! Shocking to me! It's so disheartening and I hope and pray that it changes. I've hightlit you among other awesome women because your stories resonate with me and I hoped that they would with others...hmmmm.

Yes, it is much much deeper. I do understand that too. ARGH!!! Lol!

  8. Thanks St. & Nikola! I appreciate you both for reaching out always. It's so refreshing to hear the voices of women who DO support. Sisterhood is so important and I wish others would recognize the importance of letting one another know that we hear them, feel them, appreciate them, embrace them, respect them, ect.... Many thanks to you both.

I've been blogging since 08' I love it and will continue to do it. I also love to read comments! And the more I read the more encourage and inspired I feel from other people's perspectives. Thanks for the spotlights keep them coming. Love your blog, love you and point well taken!

  11. Keep up the work My. I do read the blogs and up until recently haven't been able to post comments from work :( I do enjoy your posts. Some very inspiring and motivational for me. I do need that little kick in the butt every now and then to keep doing me.

Anyhow, as you can see, I can post now(YEAH BABY!) and will continue when I can. Please forgive me though if I post numerous comments in one day. I only get one day every few weeks to catch up on my blog reading :)
