Summer reads...

I love reading! I don't do it as often as I'd like to anymore (I don't think magazines count..lol!) but when I was a teen and young adult without a husband and child it was definitely one of my favorite pasttimes. The last three books I read were very good and now I'm in search of some new reading material. Although now it's impossible for me to finish a novel in 1 day because of all the things I am responsible for as a business owner, parent, and wife, however I still enjoy becoming engrossed in a great book when I have time, and going through all of the emotions that come along with reading. I absolutely love how a good book allows you to really feel like you get to know the characters and what they may be experiencing. Novelist tend to explore and expand their character(s) more in dept than a movie ever could.

Below are the last three books I've read, but I'm looking for some suggestions for new material....What good books have you read lately or is reading something that seems to elude you nowadays?

  1. I am a huge fan of reading. I agree, it's hard to find the time to do it. I'm currently reading THE HELP. I hesitated on reading it for a while, but I am glad I finally started it. It's actually pretty good and you can get absorbed in the characters.

  2. Hey Myisha,

I would love to know your thoughts on Midnight by Sista Soulja. I have had this book for almost a year now but have not read it due to the feedback I've heard about it (very slow, hard to get into). The Coldest Winter Ever (another book by Sista Soulja) is my all-time fave book so I was hoping Midnight would be just as good! Would you recommend it, or should it stay on the back of my book shelf? lol

  3. I love it Nikola...Of course Coldest Winter Ever was just GREAT, but Midnight was not bad. A bit slow, but I still think it's worth dusting off and getting into ;)

The Help...I'll be checking out the movie so I must read the book too! Thanks Erika!
